Paris, France -- Vision Systems participated in the development of the H160 that Airbus Helicopters presented for the first time in Europe at the International Paris Air Show (Le Bourget) taking place from 15 to 21 June in Paris, France. The H160 is Airbus Helicopters’ new generation 5.5 to 6-ton twin-engine helicopter. Incorporating innovative technologies, the H160 is tailored for a wide range of applications, including oil and gas operations, emergency medical services, public services, business and private aviation.
Vision Systems has been selected to manufacture 6 jettisonable windows per helicopter, comprising 6 different composite frames with complex geometries. The windows made of PMMA are tinted and bonded on thermocompressed carbon frames.
Vision Systems' Composite Business Unit will develop the composite frames in partnership with Compose, tooling expert, integrator of complete turnkey solutions for plastic and composite parts (RTM, PEEK stamping, SMC, injection, over molding, lay-up, infusion...).
The project includes emergency mechanical unlocking systems, door seals, and bad weather windows.
Mastering different processes such as Resin Transfer Molding, thermocompression, thermoforming and drape forming, aside of mechanics and electronics, Vision Systems offers complete functional systems with breakthrough features, easy to install and to maintain.
