Jackson, MS -- Ray Balentine recently joined global engineering, consulting and planning firm Michael Baker International as office executive for its Jackson, Mississippi office.
Balentine brings a deep history of more than 37 years of engineering and planning experience to this role. Prior to joining Michael Baker International, Balentine served as director of intermodal planning for the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) and has also worked as a consulting engineer with both national and regional firms. While at MDOT, his divisions were recognized with three American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) awards for excellence.

Balentine is active in his community and profession. He is a member of several transportation organizations and university boards, including the Mississippi Water Resources Association, the Mississippi Intermodal Council and the Jackson State University Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Ray is the current president of the Mississippi Transportation Institute. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
