The City of Galesburg’s Economic Development Department will host a "Supply Chain Matchmaking Workshop – Mobile Machinery" on Wednesday, March 26, 2014. Supply chain/procurement representatives from two of the region’s premier mobile machinery manufacturers, Kress Corp., and Astec Mobile Screens, Inc., will present information on their supply chain needs and requirements to area businesses. According to Gary Camarano, Global Strategies Director for the City of Galesburg, "The goal of this workshop is to present opportunities for new business relationships to area businesses, and help build a strong, local supply chain for area manufacturers. Two of the region’s very successful mobile machinery manufacturers, Kress and Astec, will tell interested businesses their procurement needs. We’ve hosted a few of these workshops in the past and we’ve gotten great feedback from participants about the workshop’s effectiveness." The workshop will feature presentations by Kress Corp. (Brimfield, IL), a world renowned manufacturer of material handling and mining equipment, and Astec Mobile Screens (Sterling, IL), the premier supplier of innovative screening solutions for the quarry, recycle, sand and gravel and other material processing industries. Gary Taylor, International Coordinator for Astec Mobile Screens said, "This is a great way to find any new vendors who could provide quality products and service, possibly save us money, and bring our supply chain closer to home." Camarano added, "Both Kress and Astec have participated in some of our other economic development programs and have expressed an interest in establishing a quality, local supply chain when possible. It’s great to be able to keep business in the region. This helps us retain, expand, create and attract businesses, and that ultimately translates into jobs." Workshop details: When: Wednesday, March 26, 2014, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM |
