Governor & First Lady conclude economic development trip to Japan and South Korea, highlighting importance of global relationships
Tokyo, Japan -- Governor Eric J. Holcomb concluded a seven-day economic development trip to Asia today after meeting with business, industry and government leaders in Japan and South Korea. Today, Gov. Holcomb and the delegation met with leadership of two of Indiana’s largest Japanese companies – Subaru Corporation and Honda Motor Company – and hosted a Friends of Indiana reception, welcoming more than 300 stakeholders who contribute to the strong Indiana-Japan relationship.
“The importance of our relationship with Japan cannot be overstated,” Gov. Holcomb said. “The opportunity to strengthen ties with our Japanese partners and discuss new opportunities for investment is invaluable and will lead to further growth in our state. I’m particularly grateful for the time we spent with leadership from Subaru, Toyota and Honda. With their continued success, Indiana will remain the top advanced manufacturing state in the nation.”
