Production facility slated to bring 140 jobs to the West Valley

Goodyear, AZ -- fairlife, LLC announced plans to increase overall production capabilities with the construction of a new 300 thousand square foot production and distribution facility in Goodyear. The new $200+ million facility, which is slated to begin operation in the back half of 2020, will house production lines that will play a key role in meeting the growing demand for fairlife.

“fairlife is a pioneer in the dairy industry and having their new plant here will not only encourage innovation in Arizona, it will contribute to our efforts to grow our advanced manufacturing sector in our community,” stated Mayor Georgia Lord of Goodyear.

Working with the United Dairymen of Arizona (UDA) to source milk from numerous dairy farmers in Goodyear, the new fairlife plant will enable increased production of all fairlife products, including the different varieties of fairlife ultra-filtered milk®, Core Power®, fairlife® YUP!™, fairlife® smart snacks™, and fairlife® nutrition plan™.

Company will lead with a Phase 1 deployment of a 418,000-square-foot facility with expansion up to 2 million square feet

Phoenix, AZ — Stream Data Centers, an industry leader in providing premium data center solutions, announces today that it has acquired a 418,000-square-foot facility on 157 acres of land in Goodyear, Arizona, where it will establish a data center campus for hyperscale and enterprise customers in the Greater Phoenix region. Initially, Stream will redevelop the existing facility, which at full build-out will contain approximately 50 MW of critical load and will be fully operational for customers in the first quarter of 2020.

This acquisition marks the company’s entrance into the Phoenix market and will enable it to scale with the needs of the area’s growing number of cloud providers and enterprise users.  At full build, the entire campus can support approximately 2 million square feet.  Stream will dedicate land for an onsite substation to be constructed by Arizona Public Service Electric Company (APS) with ultimate power capacity of 350 MW.

Mesa, AZ — The City of Mesa moved forward a plan for a 20 acre, multi-use, campus-style community at Crismon Road and Hampton Avenue. This $200 Million project called GrandeVita, a Biocity Enterprise by Khangura Development, will allow seniors to "age in place" in a high tech and innovative environment. A 127 room Residence Inn by Marriott is the first project to be completed on the campus and will be open in January of 2019. When completed, GrandeVita will create an estimated 326 jobs with an average wage of $45.25 an hour and generate 28.6 million dollars in wages.

GrandeVita's concept and design has been developed with the intent of creating a unique campus atmosphere with a world class resort feel. The campus is nearly 700,000 square feet of independent and assisted living, hotel rooms, multiple dining options, medical offices, a luxury tower and luxury condos, nursing school and rehab clinic spread out over 20 acres.

New 36,000 square foot facility doubles the company’s current production capability

Mesa, AZ — Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) announced that its Innovation Systems sector operations in Mesa completed the expansion of its Bushmaster® medium caliber cannon production facility. The new 36,000 square foot facility nearly doubles the company’s current production capacity by collocating warehouse and manufacturing operations into one site.

Peoria, AZ — It feels like it was only a few short months ago Maricopa Integrated Health System (MIHS) and the City of Peoria celebrated the groundbreaking of the new 127,000 SF West Valley Primary and Specialty Care Center. Now rising three stories high and over 50 feet skyward, construction is well on its way.

The health care center is located on a 20-acre site which is part of the Peoria Place property at Grand Avenue and Cotton Crossing. When it opens in early 2020, it is estimated there will be approximately 320 staff dedicated to this site, treating an expected daily volume of about 255 patients and visitors, thus addressing the health needs of the rapidly-growing West Valley with a wide range of services.

Lead AQST Space Systems is moving its headquarters from Puerto Rico to Mesa's Falcon District and expects to hire up to 125 employees over the next three years

Mesa, AZ — AQST Space Systems announced the company is moving its headquarters from Puerto Rico to Mesa, Arizona. The company plans to manufacture and assemble rockets for small satellites and expects to begin production by the end of 2018.

The aerospace systems technologies solutions company has secured space for headquarters operations at Falcon Field Airport in the City of Mesa’s Falcon District, and plans to acquire additional space for its manufacturing operations. AQST expects to hire up to 125 employees, including engineers, welders, technicians, satellite operators, data scientist managers and other support personnel over the next three years.

Gilbert, AZ -- Gilbert, Arizona is thrilled to welcome leading professional services organization, Deloitte, as it announces an expansion of its Arizona footprint with a new U.S. Delivery Center for technology solutions. The initial $34 million investment will result in the occupancy of 102,000-square-feet of space at The Commons at Rivulon, a development at Gilbert Road and the Santan Loop 202 freeway. The project is expected to generate 2,500 jobs in the Gilbert community over multiple phases.

“Gilbert is the perfect home for Deloitte as there are a multitude of opportunities for synergy between the world class organization and this community,” said Gilbert Mayor Jenn Daniels. “With the creation of these high-wage jobs, Deloitte will be one of the largest employers in Gilbert. Community and Economic Development Director JJ Johnston

Oro Valley, AZ -- The Town of Oro Valley will officially welcome Jimmy (JJ) Johnston as the Director of Community and Economic Development. The addition of Johnston to the Oro Valley team is part of the Town’s efforts to streamline processes, expand levels of service to the community, and fulfill Council’s goal of increased focus on economic development.

Mesa, AZ – Commercial Metals Company (CMC) has broken ground on a 63,000 square foot expansion to create spooled rebar at CMC Steel Arizona, an environmentally responsible micro mill in southeast Mesa.

"CMC Steel's commitment to innovation and new technology makes them a leader in the steel production, fabrication and recycling industry," Mayor John Giles said. "We are proud of the work they do here in Mesa and look forward to their continued success."

The company is investing in a spooler to produce hot-rolled, spooled rebar at its 260 acre campus located at 11444 E. Germann Road. This will be CMC’s second spooler operation in the United States. The first was recently built at their new micro mill in Durant, Oklahoma.

Mesa, AZ... A groundbreaking ceremony has been held for EdgeCore Internet Real Estate’s Mesa Data Center Campus,13303 S. Ellsworth Road. The 180-thousand square foot building will help EdgeCore offer cloud-connected data center solutions to the world’s most demanding customers.

Mesa, AZ -- Governor Doug Ducey announced that Arizona will be home to SkyBridge Arizona, the nation's first international air cargo hub to house both Mexican and United States customs. The first-of-its-kind service, which will be operated out of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, will enable E-commerce companies, manufacturers and other commercial interests conducting business in Mexico and throughout Latin America to more efficiently and cost-effictively transport goods between countries, while ensuring proper inspections and safety controls.

The project is expected to create 17,000 direct and indirect jobs and increase cargo flights out of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport by 2,000 a year, eventually reaching 10,000 by 2036.

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding $30 million to support 35 projects in 15 states under the 2017 Assistance to Coal Communities (ACC 2017) initiative. The funding will assist locally-driven efforts to communities and regions severely impacted by the declining use of coal through activities and programs that support economic diversification, job creation, capital investment, workforce development and re-employment opportunities.
“From his first days in office, President Trump ended the Federal government’s assault on the coal industry and the communities who rely on it,” said Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross. “The previous administration fought this war through unilateral executive actions and regulatory edicts, and the casualties were American workers and families.”

Mesa, AZ — Niagara Bottling, LLC, the largest, private-label bottled water supplier in the U.S., announced it will establish a 450,000-square-foot, highly automated manufacturing and bottling operation in the City of Mesa’s Elliot Road Technology Corridor.
“The investment that Niagara Bottling is making in Mesa is a very significant one and I could not be happier that they have chosen to make it in District 6,” District 6 Councilmember Kevin Thompson said. “The Elliot Road Technology Corridor is such an important area for our region and they will be a tremendous addition.”
Niagara Bottling will invest $76 million in the facility and will create 45 to 55 new jobs with a total payroll of more than $2.5 million annually. The company expects to begin construction in June this year and commence production in the first quarter of 2018.

Mesa, AZ — DuPont Fabros Technology Inc. (NYSE:DFT), a leading owner, developer, operator, and manager of multi-tenant wholesale data centers, has announced it has purchased an undeveloped 56.5 acre site on Crismon Road just north of Elliot Road in Mesa’s Elliot Road Technology Corridor. The company plans to develop a data center campus with capacity for up to 1 million square feet in the future.
“DuPont Fabros Technology’s selection of Arizona for a data center site is another excellent example of how our state provides an unmatched platform supporting the world’s leading companies,” Arizona Governor Doug Ducey said. “Arizona’s pro-business environment and stable climate enable companies like DFT to provide their clients with data center services affordably and reliably.”

Tucson, AZ — The Site Selectors Guild (SSG), the world’s largest group of senior location advisors, is pleased to announce the election of Mark Williams as chairman of the board at the SSG annual meeting in March.

Williams has been a member of SSG for four years and previously served on the board as treasurer. He is the founder and president of the Strategic Development Group, a business-consulting firm providing site selection and location incentive negotiation services.

Mesa, AZ -- Infineon, a Germany-based world leader in semiconductor solutions, celebrated the Grand Opening of its new warehouse and Gallium Nitride (GaN) cleanroom at its Mesa facility located at 550 W. Juanita Ave. The multi-million-dollar expansion project added approximately 11,500 square feet and will create more than 20 new high-quality jobs.

“Infineon has been an important part of Mesa’s technology community for years and it is great to see them expand their facility,” Mesa Mayor John Giles said. “It’s exciting when a business in Mesa is on the cutting edge of new semiconductor technology.”

GaN is a new semiconductor material that will help increase the efficiency and performance of power electronics used in everyday life such as power adapters for laptops.

New State of the Art Manufacturing Facility will Help Meet Growing Demand for Continuous Glucose Monitoring Technology

Founded in 1917, Carlisle’s current Corporate Office is in Charlotte, North Carolina. Carlisle manufactures a broad range of products including commercial roofing, interconnected products, fluid handling technologies, brake and friction systems, and foodservice products.

Peoria, AZ -- This week, Huntington University finalized an eight-year lease for a new campus in Peoria, Ariz. The former Dolce Salon and Spa building in the P83 district will be the new site of Huntington's digital arts degree programs. The university expects to hold classes in the new location for the 2016-2017 school year.

"Huntington University is very excited not only to find a permanent location for our new site, but also one that fits our digital media arts degree programs so well," said Huntington's Director of Arizona Operations, Jeff Berggren. "Not only does the building look like a facility that houses a creative educational community, it has fantastic visibility from both the 101 and 83rd Avenue."

The city worked to attract higher education partners as part of its Economic Development Implementation Strategy, a plan established to focus the long-term economic development efforts for Peoria by targeting certain industries the city is primed to suport.

Mesa, AZ -- Santander Consumer USA Holdings Inc. (NYSE: SC, “Santander Consumer USA”), a consumer finance company focused on vehicle finance, third-party servicing and delivering superior service to more than 2.5 million customers across the full credit spectrum, announced it will expand its operations to the Centrica project at 1550 W. Southern Ave. in Mesa’s Fiesta District.

“We welcome Santander Consumer USA to Mesa’s Fiesta District,” Mayor John Giles said. “This neighborhood is experiencing a renaissance with new housing, new jobs and growing education and healthcare industries. Santander Consumer USA’s addition of nearly a thousand new jobs is a big deal.”

Santander Consumer USA is new to the Phoenix market and will lease the entire 117,000 sq. ft. Centrica project. Santander will employ more than 970 people over three years with an average wage of approximately $51,000.

The company will generate 1,000 jobs with an average salary of $82,000

Tempe, AZ -- Chicago-based private banker Northern Trust will open a $95 million office complex and bring 1,000 jobs to Tempe's Discovery Business Campus as part of a deal struck with the Arizona Commerce Authority and the city.

Northern Trust is expected to occupy about 450,000 square feet in three new buildings near the northwestern corner of Elliot Road and Loop 101, with the first building ready by December. The company could begin filling a second office tower by 2018 and finish the complex by 2021, according to a Tempe government report. Read Full Story...

Governor Doug Ducey Announces Major Apple Expansion in Arizona

$2 Billion Global Command Center Will be One of Apple’s Largest Investments
Phoenix, AZ -- Governor Doug Ducey today announced that Apple will be expanding in Arizona, with a $2 billion investment in Mesa on a command center for the company's global networks -- representing one of the company's largest investments in history. 
The facility is expected to employ 150 full-time Apple employees, with 300-500 construction and trade jobs. Additionally, Apple is making a significant investment to power the facility with 100 percent renewable energy -- building and financing solar projects that will take advantage of Arizona's excellent solar resources. The projects will produce 70 MW of clean energy, enough to power more than 14,500 Arizona homes.
