At the deepwater ports of Savannah and Brunswick, the GPA and its maritime logistics partners moved a record 4.5 million TEUs and more than 600,000 units of Roll-on/Roll-off cargo in FY2019. Eagle Aviation Technologies, LLC to expand manufacturing facility
 
Richmond, VA -- Governor Ralph Northam announced that Eagle Aviation Technologies, LLC, an industry leader in composites design and fabrication, will invest $207,500 to expand its manufacturing facility in the City of Newport News. The company will add new production equipment at the operation and create 75 new jobs.

“Innovative companies like Eagle Aviation Technologies have an important role in propelling our 21st-century economy forward, which is why my administration has made it a priority to support businesses of every size and in all industries,” said Governor Northam. “The success of the company has reached new heights from its growing operation in the City of Newport News, and we are proud that the Virginia Jobs Investment Program will bolster the hiring and training efforts for 75 new jobs being created.”

West Jefferson, OH -- Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Jefferson Industries Corporation (JIC) officials announced the company’s plans to expand its facility in West Jefferson, Ohio, creating 150 new jobs and investing $10.8 million. The Japanese auto supplier is a global manufacturer of automotive body frames. The news comes as Governor DeWine is visiting Saitama, Ohio’s sister state in Japan and home to Jefferson Industries’ world headquarters, alongside officials from JobsOhio and Columbus 2020.

“Jefferson Industries’ expansion brings new jobs at a cutting-edge automotive parts facility in the Columbus Region, boosting growth for both the company and Central Ohio,” said Governor DeWine. “JobsOhio and its partners continue to attract globally successful Japanese companies like Jefferson Industries that are prospering with Ohio talent.”

$12 Million Investment Creating 176 New Jobs

New facility will create 150 jobs, draw $20 million capital investment

Madison, WI -- Officials from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), local leaders and company officials celebrated a ribbon cutting as Huffcutt Concrete LLC officially opened its new facility in Lake Hallie, a $20 million project that expects to add 150 new jobs over the next five years.

“Huffcutt’s new automated precast wall panel boasts technology and manufacturing processes never before seen in the U.S. This technology will bring quality and service to a new level, elevating innovation in precast. We are excited to bring a broad range of employment opportunities to the Chippewa Valley,” said Huffcutt President and CEO Brian Seubert.

WEDC is supporting the project by authorizing up to $1.25 million in state income tax credits over three years. The actual amount of tax credits Huffcutt will receive is contingent upon the number of jobs created and the amount of capital investment during that period.

Legal Software firm to create 20 new direct jobs, with $65,000 Average Salary, by end of 2020

New Orleans, LA — Governor John Bel Edwards, Mayor LaToya Cantrell and Litify founder Reuven Moskowitz announced the company will open a new regional office in New Orleans and create 20 new direct jobs by the close of 2020.

Headquartered in New York City, Litify is an integrated, intuitive legal technology platform that empowers law firms of all sizes to seamlessly manage their business operations. Litify’s platform enables clients to leverage real-time data to produce insights about growing their law practices.

“We’re pleased that Litify has chosen Louisiana and New Orleans for its first regional expansion outside New York,” Gov. Edwards said. “Our recipe for talent, training and technology is unmatched. In fact, Business Facilities described New Orleans this summer as a ‘low-cost, high-culture’ business destination that is ‘the world’s next great technology hub.’ We couldn’t have said it any better ourselves.”

Expansion adding 63 new jobs at Summerville, S.C. facility
 
Columbia, SC -- DC Machine, an industrial design and machining center that manufactures close tolerance components, is expanding its existing Dorchester County operations. The company's investment of $9.5 million is expected to create 63 new jobs.
 
Since DC Machine established its first 250-square-foot facility in Dorchester County in 2004, the company has grown tremendously. An expansion in 2015 increased operating size to 17,000 square feet and added 17 new jobs.
 
DC Machine's current expansion includes the purchase of an existing building, located at 2735 W. Fifth North Street in Summerville and increases operational space by more than 61,000 square feet. This expansion will allow the company to grow production of existing product lines and expand into others.

Indiana Strengthens Transpacific Business, Cultural Connections in Tokyo

Governor & First Lady conclude economic development trip to Japan and South Korea, highlighting importance of global relationships

Tokyo, Japan -- Governor Eric J. Holcomb concluded a seven-day economic development trip to Asia today after meeting with business, industry and government leaders in Japan and South Korea. Today, Gov. Holcomb and the delegation met with leadership of two of Indiana’s largest Japanese companies – Subaru Corporation and Honda Motor Company – and hosted a Friends of Indiana reception, welcoming more than 300 stakeholders who contribute to the strong Indiana-Japan relationship. 

“The importance of our relationship with Japan cannot be overstated,” Gov. Holcomb said. “The opportunity to strengthen ties with our Japanese partners and discuss new opportunities for investment is invaluable and will lead to further growth in our state. I’m particularly grateful for the time we spent with leadership from Subaru, Toyota and Honda. With their continued success, Indiana will remain the top advanced manufacturing state in the nation.”

Jackson, MS -- Spectra Laboratories, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fresenius Medical Care North America, the nation’s leading provider of kidney care products and services, broke ground on a 200,000-square-foot laboratory in Southaven. The project is expected to create more than 300 jobs over the next three years.

Fresenius Medical Care North America is a leading provider of kidney care products and services for individuals with chronic renal conditions. Spectra Laboratories offers renal-specific laboratory services, using state-of-the-art equipment, automated specimen processing and reporting applications. At Spectra’s new build-to-suit facility, which will be located in the Stateline Business Park, employees will conduct comprehensive testing, analysis and reporting to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
