Company to invest $1.4 million, create 45 new jobs

Little Rock, AR -- Cooks BBQ Products, a provider of eco-friendly premium natural coconut, hardwood, lump charcoals, flavored smoking chips, wood chunks, and pellets, announced it is opening a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pindall, Arkansas (Searcy County), under the name Ozark Mountain Wood Products LLC. The company will invest approximately $1.4 million in the facility and create 45 new jobs.

“We’re excited for the opportunity to expand into Arkansas,” said Shawn Elbaz, CEO of Cooks BBQ Products. “Arkansas is the ideal location for us thanks to its central location and abundant natural resources that go into our products.”

New York Proton Center will open in 2019 and is anticipated to serve 1,500 patients a year
 
New York, NY -- New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) President and CEO James Patchett, City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito and Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer toured the construction progress of the New York Proton Center (NYPC) in East Harlem.

NYPC, the first proton beam therapy facility in New York State, will provide advanced cancer treatment using targeted radiation and beam therapy that is especially effective on pediatric, head and neck, and eye cancers among others, and is expected to treat 1,500 patients a year. Today there are 25 proton centers in the United States and the nearest facility for New Yorkers is in Somerset, New Jersey. NYPC is operated by a consortium of three New York healthcare institutions—Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Montefiore Health System, Mount Sinai Health System and ProHEALTH Proton Management, LLC.

Governor taps three new members, reappoints two

Governor Nathan Deal announced the reappointments of Don L. Waters and Dr. C. Thomas Hopkins Jr. to the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. Deal also appointed Bárbara Rivera Holmes, W. Allen Gudenrath and Erin Hames to the board. These appointments will be effective Jan. 1, 2018.

Kitchen cabinet and flooring company to invest $6.5 million, create nearly 70 jobs

Nashville, TN -- Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and Cabinets To Go officials announced that the Lawrenceburg-based company will expand its operations in Lawrence County. Cabinets To Go plans to invest $6.5 million and create nearly 70 new jobs in Lawrenceburg.

“Just last year, Cabinets To Go made a major investment to make Lawrence County the hub for its distribution and corporate operations,” Rolfe said. “Cabinets To Go’s decision to expand its manufacturing capabilities in Lawrenceburg is a testament to the region’s strong workforce and a business environment in Tennessee that supports job creation. I’d like to thank Cabinets To Go for investing further in Lawrenceburg and creating nearly 70 high quality jobs in Lawrence County.”

New operations to create 500 jobs
 
Columbia, SC — Stanley Black & Decker (NYSE: SWK), one of the world's largest tool and storage companies, is opening a new manufacturing facility in York County. The new operations are projected to bring $31 million in capital investment and lead to the creation of 500 new jobs.
 
An internationally-recognized Fortune 500 company, Stanley Black & Decker is a diversified global provider of hand tools, power tools and related accessories; electronic security solutions; and, engineered fastening systems.
 
Stanley Black & Decker will be occupying a new 345,000-square-foot facility for the manufacture and assembly of DEWALT cordless power tools. The new facility will be located in the Lakemont Business Park in Fort Mill, S.C.

Freeport, TX -- In October, Port Freeport hosted its Annual Golf Tournament at The Wilderness Golf Course in Lake Jackson benefiting Texas Port Ministry. During today’s meeting, the Port Commission presented a check in the amount of $43,500 to Bobby Fuller, Director of Texas Port Ministry.

“Over one hundred forty golfers participated in the tournament this year, most from the Freeport and Houston maritime transportation industry, as well as local businesses within the district,” said Port Freeport Executive Director/CEO Phyllis Saathoff.  “It is an honor to host the annual tournament knowing all the proceeds benefit the mariners and truckers that come into contact with our Port community.”

35 Full Time Jobs Being Added in Valdosta-Lowndes County, Georgia

Valdosta, GA — American Drill Bushing (ADB), the largest manufacturer of hoist rings in the world, is expanding its plant in Valdosta-Lowndes County, Georgia to add additional product lines.
 
In 1945, ADB started in Los Angeles making drill bushings. A focus on the current product line, the hoist rings, began in 1964 when the company patented the first design for a hoist ring.
 
“The upcoming facility expansion allows for infrastructure, equipment, and personnel to be put in place to support the existing hoist ring growth and support new manufacturing opportunities with strategic partners,” said Benjie Bradshaw, vice-president and general manager of American Drill Bushing.

HVAC manufacturer creating 100 new jobs
 
Columbia, SC — Allied Air Enterprises, a manufacturer of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions, has committed to investing approximately $10 million at its existing Orangeburg County manufacturing facility over the next five years. This new capital investment is expected to create 100 new jobs.

Guelph, Ontario, CN — International engineering firm Control Systems International (CSI) is celebrating the opening of their third satellite office, their first in Guelph.

CSI provides engineering design solutions for clients. Their new office will lead the design of robot systems used in client manufacturing processes. The Guelph office will also provide servicing and troubleshooting services to clients, and the company has plans to hire electrical apprentices, robot technicians and engineers in the near future.

Guelph is ideally located with access to educated talent developed at the University of Guelph and Conestoga College. A $1 million facilities improvement grant will fund a new Rupert clinic with modernized exam rooms and expanded services including care management, outreach and dental

Rupert, ID — Family Health Services (FHS) and the city of Rupert announced today the construction of a new clinic following the award of a $1 million grant through the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Health Infrastructure Improvement Program.  The new 10,000 sq. ft. clinic will modernize exam rooms and add space for new medical services like care management, outreach and expanded dental services.

“All of us at Family Health Services are excited to be able to provide new and improved services to the people of Rupert,” said Aaron Houston, CEO of Family Health Services. “We were thrilled to be awarded the HRSA grant to help us continue to offer affordable and accessible care to our communities. With tremendous support from the city of Rupert, the city council and local businesses, our partnership has made the project a success at every stage.”

Columbus, OH – Cintas Corporation – a leading supplier of corporate identity uniform programs, promotional products, restroom supplies, first aid, fire safety products and services, and industrial carpet and tile cleaning – announced plans to invest $10.4 million in a new distribution center in Groveport, OH. The company will lease 217,000 square feet to create its first free-standing distribution center in 10 years. Cintas will add 69 jobs in picking, shipping and office operations. The company will begin hiring for those positions in March 2018.  All positions will be posted at www.cintas.com/careers.

“As our business evolves, we are exploring ways to take better care of our valued customers and establishing a distribution presence is a key step,” said Terri Cain, vice president of Distribution, Production Planning and Replenishment at Cintas Corporation. “This new facility in the Columbus Region will allow Cintas Corporation to better and more efficiently serve our vast customer base.”

Columbus, OH – PharmaForce Inc., a privately held pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing company, will expand two of its existing facilities in the Columbus Region, investing approximately $145 million and creating 80 new jobs. Construction and remodeling will commence in 2018, with hiring for packaging, mechanical, sterile, quality assurance and validation beginning in Q1 and late 2018 for the New Albany and Hilliard facilities respectively.

“Our operations in New Albany and Hilliard have played a critical role in the growth of our company, and the investment in our manufacturing, warehouse and R&D capabilities supports that growth,” said PharmaForce Vice President and General Manager Dante Serricchio.

PharmaForce will add approximately 140,000 square feet to its New Albany facility to build out its manufacturing and warehouse operations. The company will also reconfigure and remodel a portion of the existing warehouse and production space. In Hilliard, PharmaForce will remodel and add 1,800 square feet to its existing facility, with plans to invest in new production equipment and supporting infrastructure.
