$9-million road project makes way for future development and supports growing logistics, commuter activity

San Antonio, TX -- A new road project is underway at Port San Antonio, marking an important step in the organization’s efforts to attract and grow key industries in the region.

The City of San Antonio’s Transportation and Capital Improvements Department (TCI) has begun the demolition of several obsolete buildings totaling over 40,000 square feet in the heart of the property. The road will now end near large facilities where many of the Port’s major employers are located. They include expansive aircraft maintenance workshops as well as several Air Force headquarter operations where the majority of the Port’s 12,000 daily commuters work. The road also supports the future development of industrial and mixed-use sites in the heart of the property.
